Do you regularly search the Wikidot group of sites?

If you answered "Yes" to that question, this productivity tip may help you to do so a little bit faster. Your time is valuable, so you want to spend less of it searching for content and more actually reading it.

Google Chrome's custom search engines can do exactly that.

Step 1. Right-click on the Chrome omnibar and select "Edit Search Engines…"

Step 2. Look for the Other search engines section and scroll to the bottom. You should see three empty text fields:

Step 3. Enter the search engine name, a keyword (e.g. "w") and then copy and paste following query URL into the final text field:

http://www.google.com/search?q=%s+site:wikidot.com

The query URL given above will search all sites in the *.wikidot.com network. If you would like to search a specific site only, use this query URL instead with SITE_NAME replaced by your site's unix name:

http://www.google.com/search?q=%s+site:SITE_NAME.wikidot.com

Step 4. Confirm that the details are correct. To search using your custom search engine, place your cursor into the omnibar and type your keyword (e.g. "w"), followed by a space, then your search term.

For example, typing "w ListPages module" would look like this:
