Browsers are being released all over the place.
Microsoft recently released Internet Explorer 9, with far better support for HTML5, CSS3 and other web technologies.
Mozilla also released their new browser, Firefox 4. One of my favourite (though merely aesthetic) features is the addition of Windows Vista / 7 Aero effects.
And Google has released version 11 of their Chrome browser, boasting support for HTML5's speech-to-text features!
But despite all of that, Internet Explorer 9 has one advantage over the rest. Behind my corporate proxy at University, Wikidot pages load CSS themes! Well, 95% of the time.
Every other browser fails to do this, and I've had to put up with ugly and/or unreadable Wikidot sites for a while now with no hope of a fix.
IE9 - you are now officially my favourite browser whilst I'm at University. At home I'll probably continue using Google Chrome… for the time being.
Finally, I can view this page - with the CSS theme working - at University!
Update: Actually, I revise my post. Now not even IE9 is working for me. Frustration ensues.
The two main things I do with IE no longer work reliably since I installed IE9. Microsoft Outlook Web and Remote Desktop continually hang and crash the browser, usually at the worst time. It's possible an update on my server might fix this, but my first round with IE9 has not been a happy experience. To be fair, I'll reserve judgment until I get more facts.

I'm not saying IE9 is perfect - in fact, there are a lot of things that annoy me about it.
But it -did- allow me to load Wikidot sites properly, for a while there. If you saw my "update", suddenly it decides to stop doing that for me - for no apparent reason. I'm mystified.

Just an educated guess, but perhaps IE9 does some CSS caching. Perhaps it cached some CSS themes from when you were off campus, and used those while you were on campus. Then at some stage, IE9 decided to “refresh” it's cached CSS files, and thus your sudden failures.
Just a reminder, this is just a guess. Whatcha think?
I had IE8 installed for a while and haven't been using it - went into campus yesterday and decided to upgrade to IE9 on my laptop - and it suddenly starts showing themes at Uni.
Perhaps it is reading IE8 cache from a long time ago. It's the most likely reason I've heard so far :)

BTW James you were right about the caching problem - but it's a caching problem on the campus' end, not my end with the browser.
My university uses squid cache on their network, and it doesn't like Wikidot sites. From what I can understand, any corporate network (business, educational, etc.) that uses Squid Cache will have the same issue.
Seeing these sites with and without the theme, there's a drastic difference.
It pretty much makes Wikidot sites impossible to navigate.
On the off chance that I do get a site's theme working on campus, I can 100% guarantee that any themes for iframes (including your chatbox, and RoaringApps.com's forum) will never load. And pressing F5 - or clicking on any link - breaks it again :S

Haha… awesome… :D

Wow, so themes don't work at Uni… I had problems with themes behind proxy - but it was fixed using OperaUSB or Chrome Portable.

Never tried the portable version of Opera, but the regular version, and both regular/portable Chrome don't work in my case :(

Some good news: my IT support team at University has told me that they have found the cause of the problem, and are working to fix it. Hopefully, this means I'll be able to use Wikidot properly from on campus soon.
